Bengaluru: In aid for electric vehicle owners, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd decided to establish 63 charging stations under the public-private partnership model.
Saying they have prepared 136 EV charging stations – 106 AC and 30 DC fillers – in Bengaluru, in line with EV and energy storage policies, officials said the plan is to expand the current network.
“A total of 63 stations will be established at eight bescom districts in a place owned by the utility,” said an official.
Karnataka has 2.7 crore vehicles, including 81,193 electric people.
Note shows the number of EVs in the country increased for years, from 6454 (2019) to 9731 (by 2020) for 33,302 (2021).
A total of 3,544 EVs have been registered in this year’s state so far.
Charging stations will appear in urban bengaluru (10 locations), Bengaluru Rustic (21), Ramanagara (7), Tumakuru (6), Kolar (7), Chikkaballapur (6), Davanagere (2) and Chitradurga (4).
In Bengaluru Urban, places like Banashankari Stage 2, Uttarahalli Hobli, Bannerghatta Road, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bheemajyothi Layout near West of Chord Road, Kaggalipura and Hobli’s cue will get this filling station.
In a budget of 2021-22 countries, Bescom has proposed to establish more than 1,000 EV charging stations throughout Karnataka under the PPP model.
“The selected company will build, operate and maintain them for 126 months at that location,” another official said.
“Companies can install more units based on space availability and requests.
Next, a maximum of one battery-swapping facilities / kiosk can be installed on request / requirements.

Plan Bescom is to have a charging station every 5 km in the city.
EV users can download the ‘Electree Fi’ application to find the nearest facility, backup slot, and pay for filling sessions through Cashless mode.
