Bengaluru: Students from two high school high schools have won awards for their unique design – planes that can remove vertically and cars that can run on the combustion engine or electricity.
While students from the MVJ College of Engineering have the first prize in the National Aerospace conceptual design competition for the design of ‘air taxi’ – Inter-City Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing Plane (ICevtola) – RV College of Engineering Students reach the top position for their design from Hybrid racing cars in the Hybrid Formula competition were held in 2021 in New Hampshire Motor Speedway, USA.
Students from the Aeronautics Engineering Branch at the MVJ College of Engineering designed air taxis which aims to make travel comfortably while reducing congestion on the road, increasing safety and mitigation emissions.
The team consists of Keerthi GN, Amruthamshu KP, Koushik Udayachandran, Mithun Francis P and Atyab Hakeem.
Their creation is similar to the conventional field but can land and take off vertically, it requires less space to land and recover, making it release the foundation.
The MVJ team, named Abhimanyu 4.0, was awarded the RS 20,000 cash prize and certificate.
This competition was organized by the Design Division and the Mumbai Branch of the Aeronautical Society of India.
Keithi said their products are expected to enter the market in 2031 and they now plan to publish their papers.
“Our design makes pieces because it’s not complex and marks all innovative and environmentally friendly choice boxes,” he said.
Hybrid Formula racing car designed by RV College of Engineering students won the best project management award.
A team of 29 students from Ashwa Racing – The Racing Division of Ashwa Mobility Foundation, research and development projects students conducted by college students – participate in virtual events.
Members of the concept team, design and build various mobility prototypes.
Dhruv Gupta, team captain, said their prototypes won because of their project plans, ideas and designs.
“Ashwa Racing has secured the podium since 2017 at the Hybrid Formula and Stand First in 2020 and 2021.
This year, our car has a feature that gives the selection driver to choose a combustion engine (gasoline / diesel) or electric engine as needed,” said Gupta .
“Focus on the development of sustainable green mobility inspired ashwa racing to adapt parallel hybrid architecture developed.
The design of course paves the way for the future with less dependence on fossil fuels,” he said.
Ravindra S Kulkarni, faculty adviser, Ashwa racing, and Prof.
and head, the Aerospace Engineering Department, RVCE, said the team had been far from the beginning of 2003.
