Bengaluru: Doctor 46 years from Bengaluru, who has tested Omicron’s positive and reportedly recovered, positively tested for Covid-19 again on Tuesday.
The doctor was the first two people detected with Omicron in this country.
The other is a South African citizen, who was quarantined and then flew to Dubai.
“It is true that the doctor who was infected with the omicron variant was once again tested positive for Covid-19,” said a Mahanagara Manganagara Bruhat Bengaluru official.
Asking anonymity, the official said the doctor was under isolation, but he was asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against SA National, which is Gujarati through origin, because it flew without telling the authorities who violated quarantine norms.
Management and five-star hotel staff here have also been ordered because it allows infected people to leave without notifying health officials.
They have been ordered under various parts of the IPC and the Law of Karnataka Epidemic, 2020, the police said.
