Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Civic Agency only allowed a three-day celebration of Ganesha Pooja in the city in public places against the Karnataka government’s order that allows five days of celebration in the state, to maintain Covid-19 infection.
“The Ganesha festival will not be allowed for more than three days in the city of Bengaluru.
There should be no procession while carrying an idol or during dyeing,” said Chief Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mangangara (BBMP) Gaurda Gupta in a circle.
Instructions came after the Gupta held a meeting with senior officer officers and police commissioners Bengaluru Kamal Pant.
Then talking to reporters, Gupta said BBMP last year allowed Ganesha Festival for three days, which will continue this year.
He said the decision to have only three days was taken after input from the police that there was a possibility that the big meeting participated in the public celebration.
Gupta also said that Ganesha idol made from Paris plaster was banned.
He asked people to immerse traditional Ganesha idols, made of biodegradable in their homes in a bucket or cellular tankers from the Civic Agency.
“Idols installed at home must be embedded at home or in our cellular tank.
Ganeshas installed in a public place (maximum) height of four legs and must sink into the cellular tank.
We also have a soaking tank.
We have also arrived at the decision to ban Soaking idols on the lake, “Gupta said.
Pants said one Ganesha Idol in a public place in each ward was permitted, where the committee had to get a nod from BBMP and then told the deputy commissioner of the police.
A BBMP official of the number of infections in the city is still on the higher side and therefore it was decided to limit public celebrations to a maximum of three days.
