BENGALURU: Ridoy Babu, 25, who’s one of the six individuals arrested in relation to the gangrape and attack of a fellow Bangladeshi nationwide from town, has been popularly called TikTok Hridoy Babo at Dhaka.
Babu and fellow detained Rakibul Islam Sagar, 23, were on Friday shot at the legs if they assaulted police who’d shot them to Kanakanagar place in Ramamurthynagaroff Old Madras Road, to get a place mahazar.
Babu, Sagar and others, including two girls, were detained on Thursday night for attacking and raping a girl.
A movie of the attack had gone viral at Bangladesh and northeast India.
Each of the detained are Bangladeshi nationals who trafficked girls from their own country for conducting prostitution rackets at Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kozhikode.
According to authorities, Babu’s actual name is Rifadul Islam and that he had several aliases, such as Ridoy Babu and Hriday Babo.
Police found that Ridoy utilized to take short videos and then upload them video-sharing platforms.
He’d befriend girls in the name of earning videos and take them to different locations such as shooting.
Ramamurthynagar authorities have called Ridoy as accused of no.

“We discovered that Ridoy had taken videos with women and uploaded them onto an internet platform and gained fame in Bangladesh.
He mistreated his fame and provided girls to the traffickers by asserting work in Bengaluru along with other towns.
Ridoy has been treated at hospital and we are going to question him in detail to understand his function in human trafficking and in the rape situation,” an officer said.
The survivor, who’d fled to Kerala following the attack, was brought back into the city.
