Bengaluru: Bengaluru Urban has now followed Mumbai to become a district with the second highest Covid death in the country, while Pune continued to lead a table.
On August 18, Bengaluru had 15,953 deaths related to viruses compared to 15,930 in Mumbai and 18,779 in Pune.
Bengaluru, who has the highest covid-19 case for a district in India after Pipping Pune in mid-May, has a better case mortality rate (CFR) than the city of Maharashtra.
On August 18, CFR Pune reached 1.7% and Mumbai was 2.1% compared to 1.3% Bengaluru.
