Bengaluru: Wall as high as a four-foot crossing the mud road, which used to live the layout of Mudalilar, from Kasavanahalli, Bellandur Ward, has been established for three years, even though there is an effort by the locals to make him razed.
Kasavanahalli, Cross 5, when the road is called, stretches up to 100 meters, links the Layout of KPCL and Kasavanahalli and passes the Mudalilar layout.
For almost a decade it has not only shortened the distance between the Layout of the KPCL and Kasavanahalli, but also the main link to the outside world for the residents of the Mudalilar layout.
“For us, this is an unofficial main road and we use it while traveling to supervise the construction of our house,” said Rajesh R, a resident of the Mudalilar layout.
This stretch helps residents avoid snarl traffic on the main road Kasavanahalli.
“Because this is a motorized road, the school bus will easily use it to deliver our children,” said Priya L, a resident of Kasavanahalli.
However, things changed mysteriously three years ago, when a wall appeared across the street, forcing the residents layout Mudaliar to take a rotating route to reach their home, which meant the extra kilometer commuter.
“School buses are hesitant to take the Roundabout route and prefer to drop children away from their homes; we have to rush to take it,” said the parents.
Thanks to the wall, the road has fallen down and the place is used to defecate open by people from the nearest slums.
“We were forced to keep our windows closed,” said another resident of the Mudalilar layout.
The locals said they had approached BBMP officials several times, requested that the wall pulled down, but their requests fell in the deaf year.
Documents accessed by TOI revealed that work orders to increase roads were issued in 2017.
Similar tasks were issued in 2019, but until now there has been no change in the ground.
Incidentally, BBMP officials from Bellandur Ward refused to even recognize the presence of the wall.
“We are not aware of such things.
We will examine it and take the necessary action, if there is a violation,” said a senior official from the road infrastructure division.
“The Cross of Kasavanahalli 5 has been spread by strong people.
If encroachment is not cleaned, we will protest and take a march to the local MLA office soon,” said Mahadevapura Aam Aadmi Party President Ashok Mruthyunjaya.
