Bodo leader Garjan Mushahary joined Congress before Bypolls in Assam

Guwahati: Congress, who has tried to regain a lost area for a while but only faced erosion in the form of leaders who left the party, has now succeeded in injecting some new hopes into the party with the induction of some Bodo Top leaders.
Congress pioneers to the Bodoland territorial (BTR) region have its significance as some assembly segments here are set to go to the election (bik-biks) immediately.
Several top leaders of the action committee with Peoples for the Bodoland (Pjaccm) movement, including the main convenience, Garjan Mushahary, joined Congress on Thursday.
Only a few days ago, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) gave responsibility for MP Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi to take stock of organizational problems in BTR where the Front Alliance (BPF) Bodoland (BPF) enjoyed extraordinary support until the BJP was formed by the government Assam in 2016.
Mushahary representatures along with 17 other leaders from PJACBM have significance when they pioneered the movement for the Bodoland state separate with the Bodo Student Union (ABSU) and the National Democratic Front (Progressive) (NDFB-P) for many years.
The President of Congress Assam Bhupen Borah told Ti that joining BODO leaders had delivered a ray of hope for Congress at BTR, right in front of repairs.
