BOMMAI: The former socialist who switches loyalty to a saffron party

Bengaluru: With a political career that stretches more than 21 years, the Basavaraj Bommai is always regarded as a former socialist now because of loyalty to BJP.
Because, his father and former Sr Bommai’s former minister came from Janata Dal and he also began his political career from the same party.
He has a rather tolerant approach than a hard Hindutva holder, a lot in the same style as another mentor, former Minister of BS Yediyurappa.
MLC and Twotime MLC three times, Bommai is considered as clever like his father and a Yediyurappa trust.
The bommai was chosen as the successor to Yediyurappa within 24 hours after the resignation showed his sustainable relationship with Strongman’s linglayat had produced a rich dividend.
The meteoric increase, within 13 years joined BJP, showed his clever political taste and convenience which he navigated the time and scandal full of turmoil, Dogging Yediyurappa.
Can be recalled that Bommai did not leave BJP to join Yediyurappa when he created the KJP in 2013.
However, it was said that he played an important role in bringing him back to BJP on the pressure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
When joining the BJP government in 2018, Bommai became a Yediyurappa shadow.
He was given a double responsibility at home and laws & parliamentary affairs to help him make important decisions.
Although it comes from sub-caste (conscious) which is smaller than the Lingayat community, Bommai seems to be the choice that Yediyurappa and the central leadership have been agreed upon.
While the appointment can be considered a setback for the Anti-Yediyurappa camp, the calculation of the central leadership suggests BOMMAI can help BJP protect the former main minister close and thus still suffocating at Votebank’s Lingayat.
