New Delhi / Bengaluru: After three days of consultation busy with central party leaders, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai is set to induce 22-24 members into the cabinet here on Wednesday, but the question mark Hang to have a CMS representative on the team.
Even because the tension continued on the names of candidates, communication from the office of the head secretary to Raj Bhavan said the oath taking ceremony was scheduled to be 2.15 PM.
Bommai told reporters in Delhi that the cabinet would be expanded in two phases.
He said there was a “detailed discussion about two candidates” and whether it had a CMS representative despite such a movement looked unavoidable considering the current political climate.
The party will communicate his decision to two candidates and vice cms on Wednesday morning.
The ministers have been chosen by considering the selection of assembly of 2023.
CM said that BS Yediyurappa is likely to hold a discussion with the National President of the JP Nadda Party on the cabinet expansion on Wecneday.
Bommai will arrive at Bengaluru on a flight early morning on Wednesday, making his stay in Delhi for cabinet talks longer than expected.
Bommai took an oath as the main minister on July 28 and since then, he has spent more time in Delhi than in Bengaluru.
On Monday night, Bommai held a detailed discussion with Nadda for almost an hour.
Bommai said he had submitted “2-3 list of drafts” and the head of the party would complete the names.
On Tuesday, CM was studied to meet Nadda three times, discussing permutations and combinations.
He finally secured a party nodding for the minister list Tuesday night.
Bommai said on Monday, the focus of expansion would be a parity of regional representatives and social justice.
The main problem, say observers, are balancing the aspirations of 8-10 newcomers and old guards.
The opposition continued to accumulate the pressure on the bommai, mocking his two trips to Delhi.
“When the BJP and CM just claim everything is fine, why did he do so many trips to Delhi? This is, when the country faces a crisis and flood Covid-19,” said Karnataka Congress President Eshwar Khandre.
