Bongaigaon refinery sent an ethanol mixed motor spirit

Guwahati: Bongaigaon refinery has become the first in the northeast to send the first batch of 10 percent of the ethanol motor spirit (EBM).
Indian oil chairman S.M.Vaidya marked the first batch ship on August 13 to a retail outlet.
Vaidya describes the role of bio-fuel and bio-gas in the energy sector in the country saying both will become the main gamechangers for Indian oil in the near future.
He emphasized the importance of increasing the ethanol mixture in the northeast, where he was still low significantly only about 2 percent.
The Chairperson also shares Indian oil plans to increase the production of bio-fuel and supply, which includes commitments to have a 10 percent ethanol ethanol pot at the end of next year.
Energy demand in India has increased rapidly, driven by economic expansion, urbanization, developing lifestyles and rising shopping power.
While the 98 percent of the fuel used in the transportation industry is filled with oil from crude oil purification, the rest are filled with bio fuel.
India currently imports 85 percent of its crude oil needs.
The 2018 edition of the biofuel policy proposes the target of 20 percent of the combination of ethanol in the spirit of the motorbike in 2030, which has now been brought to 2025.
As part of this plan, the supply of ethanol to refinery in the northeast is being increased so that the percentage of mixing ethanol for Assam and the country can Increased substantially, Indian oil said.
