Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanaagara Palike (BBMP) said on Wednesday, not a bouquet of flowers, bouquets of flowers & scarves, books in Kannada will be presented to guests at the official event, Ani reported.
Chairman of the Karnataka Minister Basavarab Bommai on Tuesday has banned the practice of giving a bouquet of flowers, shawls, bouquets, and memorabilia at government events, putting it aside as ‘unnecessary expenditure’.
The government in circular says Kannada books can be given instead.
Head of Secretary of P Ravi Kumar issued a circular on this effect in the direction of the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister.
Previously on that day, the minister’s leader who led the senior police official meeting refused to accept Bouquet Bunga, and said that the practice of giving garland, scarf and bouquets on behalf of the protocol must be done, in connection with “unnecessary expenditure”.
