Guwahati: Branch of Police Crime Assam damaged the online escort service racket operating in the city and arresting three people, including the kingpin.
The defendant was Sanep Kumar aka Mukul Bhardwah aka Bambam (racket kingpin), his wife Diya Sarah aka Junaki Begum and NayaneMoni Patowary (city-based hotel manager).
The police on Tuesday said the three were part of the racket of prostitution between countries.
“For the past few days, the Social Media Social Media Compero, Guwahati, found several handles and Twitter websites that claimed to provide escort services in Guwahati and other cities of Assam.
Introduction investigations express the involvement of possible prostitution racquarts between countries,” Police said in A statement.
The crime branch registered a case (No 09/2021) under 292 and 371 IPC sections and sections 67 and 67 (a) of the Information Technology Act on August 5 and began an investigation in a fast way.
“Technical analysis leads the crime branch to find the involvement of Patowary Nayane, the city-based hotel manager, in running a racket.
He was picked up in August 5.
Patowary recognition led Crime Branch to capture the kingpin, Saneep Kumar, who runs the racket with his wife, Sarmah,” Police said that.
The police said the defendant used to communicate with potential customers through social media or other online methods to improve dates, girls and rates.
“Sex rackets operate at the hotel, where Saneep works as a manager.
In this process all the defendants received commissions,” police said.
Kingpin, Saneep, who fled, was arrested from Lakhisarai District of Bihar on Sunday and taken to Guwahati.
“His wife Diya Sarmah, who was arrested from the Patharqerry area in the city on Friday, claimed that he did not know the existence of Saneep.
Meanwhile, technical analysis of the cellphone number used by Saneep revealed several addresses from Delhi to Bihar to Maharashtra.
The team found that The defendant has at least 10-15 cellphone numbers with different addresses, “police said.
Using technical and human intelligence, the police managed to narrow the location of Saneep to the Lakhisarai district in Bihar.
The crime branch team rushed to LakhiSarai and picked him up.
The police also suspected the Saneep running the same prostitution racket in other parts of the country too.
