Silchar: In the operation along with the Ministry of Excise and Narcotics Mizoram, BSF troops took a large number of drugs and arrested one person from Claid in Mizoram on Friday, after receiving certain tips.
A spokesman for BSF Mizoram and Frontier Cachar in Mashimpur told the BSF intelligence team consisting of 90 battalions and the State Excise Ministry of Mizoram and the Narcotics Department conducted a joint search operation in the village of Chhinluang, along the NH-306, in the district of Kolastic in Mizoram and won 65 ‘Hawngs’ (local name for the package containing around 10-15 grams of heroin).
A total of 808.6 grams of heroin, worth the six-crore RS in the international market, was confiscated while one person was arrested in connection with this case.
Individuals, identified as Ramneithanga (47), are Chhimveng residents in Vairengte in Kolastic District.
The person who was arrested, along with confiscated drugs was handed over to Mizoram Excise and the Narcotics Department for further legal action, the spokesman added.
