Bengaluru: For the first time in many years, BS Yediyurappa does not have an official position in the government or BJP.
But considering his stature, he could continue to live in Cauvery Bungalow, an important residence from the minister of chairman, said some party bureaucrats and officials.
The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reform (DPAR) has not received a request for accommodation from the Head of New Minister of Basavaraj Bommai.
And there has been no effort to issue a notification asking for its predecessor to empty the property.
“At present, BOMMAI works from his family home in RT Nagar and has not been looking for official accommodation,” said a senior official.
RT Nagar’s house was on the site allocated for Bommai’s father and former main minister, Sr.
Bommai, in the early 1990s.
According to a member at Yediyurappa’s office, he tended to defend the Cauvery bungalow because it was closer to the power seat and beside Krishna, the official work of the minister of the chairman.
“Yediyurappa has not yet decided whether he will return to Davalagiri, his permanent house, but possibly he will continue to live in Cauvery after getting it allocated through one of the new ministers,” said the member.
Precedents for such settings are set in 2018-19 when Siddaramaiiah continues to be in Cauvery even though it does not become cm again.
He got it allocated for KJ George, a minister in the new Congress-JD government.
For more than a year, Siddaramaiiah worked as Chair of the Coordination Committee for Coalition Partners from this house.
Siddaramayah moved after BJP formed a government in 2019.
At that time, the Yediyurappa team suggested that he use the bungalow, said it had been proven to be lucky for members of the senior Congress, the only CM after Devaraj Urs to complete the term five years.
Yediyurappa, who believes in astrology and numerology, has lived in Government Bungalows No.
2 on the race road for two first terms as CM and one task as a representative.
State administration provides an official residence for only members of the cabinet.
However, the main minister can recommend it for MLA.
Expelled by BSP legislators to join BJPKlegal MLA N Mahesh, was expelled from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has decided to join BJP.
He met former Primary Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday.
“All of my sympathizers suggest that it will be safe to go to BJP because Congress will be difficult for me,” he said.
Mahesh was seen with Yediyurappa during the last visit to the Chamarajanagar district.
Mahesh is the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education in the Kumaraswamy HD Cabinet.
In July 2019, BSP Mayawati’s president wrapped him out of the party for allegedly violating the decision to vote that supported the Kumaraswamy government who lost assembly.
