Bengaluru: Towards July 26 – When he completed two years at the BS Yediyurappa Head Office on Saturday virtually inaugurated a number of Development Projects worth 1,800 crore to be taken in the district of his house, Shivamogga.
Their inauguration also assumes significance after the time of change in leadership in the state.
CM recently said he expected a call from a brass party about his future on Sunday and would obey their decisions.
While most of the works are related to irrigation, several health and construction services are also launched.
While some of the inaugurated projects were announced in a budget speech for the financial year, the opposition JD questioned Yediyurappa’s urgency to approve it.
Used CM HD Kumaraswamy accused the government approving the RS 12,000 Crore to work in a hurry for the past few days in the midst of talk of leadership change.
Some of the ruling party members, including Senior Mla Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, also questioned the Yediyurappa Bonanza for the district of his house and accused him of ignoring the other back in North Karnataka.
In March, CM launched the iFigasi Muguru Rs 105-Crore Irrigation project.
He recently released funds to take several politically significant projects, including Anubhava Mangapa related to the 12th century social reformer, in Basavanna, in Basavakalyana, Bidar district.
On July 24, CM launched a statue of Basavanna outside Gandhi Park in Shivamogga, which has been contributed by the Lambeth Basaveshwara Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the UK.
Yediyurappa was chosen as the Assembly of Shikaripur, Shivamogga, nearly nine times since 1983, and his son by Raghavendra was a member of parliament from the region.
“Development projects may be Thanksgiving gifts for people in their districts,” said several MLA parties.
But Deputy Minister of Chief Govind Karjol denied reports that Yediyurappa was on the way out.
