Bengaluru: This is a classic example of following your friend’s path taking: Two men from Bengaluru take a long and breadth of the country starting in 2016 on identical motorbikes, sharing the same passion for long distance trips.
In the process, the duo recorded 1 lakh km on their bicycles.
Meet Mohan Mallappa, 50, and Babu, 54, from Bengaluru.
They have been on the road on their BMW 1200 adventure motorbikes more often than at home in the past five years.
Mallappa, a businessman, began his journey in 2013 at his Harley and shifted to the BMW adventure tour at the end of 2015.
Inspired, Babu, an architect, bought the same model in 2016 and they immediately became twins.
In 2019, Mohan included 1 lakh km in his bicycle and traveled 1.85 lakh km so far, an achievement that could challenge for other adventure motorbike riders in India.
Babu doesn’t want to be left behind: He also completed 1 lakh km last week.
There are 30 motorbike riders adventure throughout the world who have completed 1 lakh km on the same adventure bike, said experts, and two of them came from Bengaluru.
“I have done some durability with 2,500 km below 36 hours on my motorcycle and started a serious long distance drive after that.
Babu immediately joined me after and we became a team on the road,” Mallappa said.
Pandemic Challengethe Covid -19 Lockdown last year created a different challenge for both, which is a member of the Republic of Republican motorcycle club based in Bengaluru.
They are part of a team of eight members who provide drugs that save soul to remote parts of South India.
