Guwahati: Union Minister Parshottam Rupala today said the center would share a 90 percent premium subsidy for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for northeastern countries.
The Minister of State for Agriculture and the Welfare of Farmers said this after attending the central sector review meeting and a centrally sponsored scheme was held at the Universities of Administrative Staff here.
Showing a planned crop insurance awareness campaign for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) during weeks of plant insurance throughout the country, Rupala said PMFBY aims to provide security protection to every farmer.
He added that the central government would share premium subsidies for PMFby up to 90 percent for northeastern countries from existing patterns of sharing 50:50.
“The vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to provide financial security to Indian farmers from natural oddities and to secure their hard work.
Schemes such as PMFBY will provide insurance coverage and financial support to farmers in failure, pests and diseases and also stabilize farmers’ income to ensure Their continuation is in agriculture, “Minister said.
Rupala also highlighted various other central schemes for farmers such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana and Hiking MSP (minimum support price) for various products that greatly helped farmers in the country.
Agriculture Minister Assam Atul Bora said the State Agriculture Department provided a fresh boost towards the development of this sector.
