The central pollution control board has told Chandigarh as one of the cityless cities where air quality is worse than the standard specified.
Administration will install more towers but smaller sized, according to the central government plan.
While completing the location, officials will hold discussions with the City Heritage Conservation Committee.
The Chandigarh Polution Control Committee (CPCC) recently inaugurated the Second Sustainable Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station (CAAQMS) in Sector 22.
The first is in the 25 sector.
The CPCC will open the third CAAQMS in September in sector 53 to check emissions close to stands Sector Bus 43.
