Chandigarh: Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) is ready to launch the first phase of public bicycle sharing on August 15 in the city, a follow-up of a successful pilot program called “cycle for challenges change”.
A total of 1,250 bicycles – 800 have arrived – in 155 docking stations will be available.
The rest will reach the city in the next few days.
The majority of docking stations have been established on commercial, tourist, education and office sites.
In residential areas too, the station has been built.
“There are some changes to new bikes.
They are more comfortable.
Because the company must run this project for 10 years, they are asked to take care of the comfort of cyclists and other problems.
The bike will arrive on time, allow the first phase kick-off on August 15,” said a senior officer.
CSCL officials have oversee all developments related to launch.
The company has searched for additional times from CSCL for launch, making it more important to get something on the date.
The pilot program has begun by 225 bicycles and 25 docking stations, including operated with batteries and manuals.
All docking stations are selected by keeping footsteps.
Eight of them were in sector 17 followed by four in sector 22.
Because these two places attract many residents, optimal bicycles available in these two sectors.
