Written by news2in

Chandigarh: In the first pollen calendar study for Chandigarh published in an international journal, it has been concluded that pollen is largely produced from trees inside and around the green belt in the city which causes severe allergies such as rhinitis, itchy nose, wheezing.
, and rejan.
Also, the two main peak seasons are February to April and August to October.
Pollen from a mulberry tree is behind the worst allergies.
During February, March and April, the highest concentration of pollen somersions exceeded 800 pollen / m3.
However, from May and so on, the number of daily pollen began to decrease, without a new peak emerged until August-October.
This study was recently published in the ‘environmental atmosphere’, which is an international journal peer-reviewed by Elsevier.
The first team of researchers from the University of PGI and Panjab consisted of Dr.
Ravindra Khalawal, Department of Medical Community and Public Health School and Dr.
Ashutosh Aggarwal, Professor, and Head, Department of Lung Medicine and Dr.
Suman Mor, Department of Chair of the Environmental Studies, Panjab University.
The percentage of the most significant annual average pollen for 2018-2020 is associated with Morus Alba (66.74%), followed by poaceae – the lawn family (6.55%), Cannabis Sativa (6.74%), Celtis Occidentalist (2.25%), parthenium hysterophorus (1.51%), Eucalyptus sp.
(1.37%).
Morus species are mulberry trees that have the ability to dissolve pollen at very high speeds explaining the reasons for this higher pollen concentration.
“When these allergens / powder can cause symptoms such as colds, itching and reddish skin, nasal irritation, bronchial asthma, sneezing, conjunctivitis, dermatitis, etc.
and can worsen the conditions in COPD and asthma patients,” said Dr.
Khaiwal.
The total concentration of annual pollen in the air ambient chandigarh is high compared to other different regions.
