CHANDIGARH: All shops can remain open till 8pm instead of 7pm and restaurants and bars can operate with 50% capacity till 10.30pm from the earlier deadline of 10pm.
These were some of the new relaxations that UT administrator VP Singh Badnore announced after a review meeting on Tuesday.
In the other easing of limits, the number of persons for marriages, funerals and gatherings was enhanced from 30 to 50.
Sports complexes were allowed to be used by members.
The UT administration which has already opened Sukhna Lake for public allowed boating with 50% capacity only.
Night curfew will be from 11pm to 5am daily.
In the meeting, Amandeep Kang, director health services, said about 40,000 Covid vaccine doses are available and 50,700 doses are to be received this month.
In July, 1.5 lakh doses for government sector and 50,000 doses for private hospitals have been allocated.
All three government health institutions, PGI, Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, and Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16 reported the opening of physical OPDs.
They were advised to take samples of non-vaccinated OPD patientsfor Covid tests.
Badnore directed DGP that strict action be taken against the violators of Covid protocol, particularly for non-wearing of masks at Sukhna lake and other public places.
Badnore said this would be the last meeting of outgoing UT adviser Manoj Parida due to his transfer.
He praised Parida for the “wonderful work done in Chandigarh and wished him success in his future endeavours”.
