Chandigarh: UT is placed in the ninth slot in vaccination coverage, with 41% coverage of a single dose.
The highest coverage is Dadra and Nagar Haveli with 73% coverage of a single dose while the national average for one dose is 22%.
According to Dr.
Rijo John, an additional professor in Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kochi, who analyzed existing data, 18 state / UT has been vaccinated more than 30% of their population with at least one dose.
At least one in four people in 24 states / UT has been vaccinated with at least one JAB.
“The average seven days have declined to 41 lakh per day compared to 64 lakh per day two weeks ago in the country,” said Dr.
John.
In Chandigarh, 9% of people have taken both doses, the seventh highest between countries / UTS.
However, Himachal Pradesh has more coverage than the city, with 46% of people have received a single dose and 11% fully immunized.
Punjab coverage is 20%, which is below the national average for one dose, while Haryana has 28% coverage.
“We will go to the old age and rwas house, now we will discuss several universities in the city so that the 18+ group is not left behind,” said Director, Health Services, Dr.
Amandeep Kang.
He added, “Before we get the third wave, we need to increase vaccination coverage so that we don’t let other waves affect our city.” Besides being routine, the UT health department has also started a night session for vaccination.
“There are some who have to go to work in the morning, so we have a night session for them.
We will soon reach households through the community and social groups for vaccines,” Director said, health services.
