Chandigarh: The city on Wednesday registered a record of 1,114 new Covid-19 cases, which included death.
The eighty-seven-year-old woman from Sector 28 died at the Medical College of Government and Hospital, Sector 32.
He suffered from diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and hypothyroidism he had developed urosepsis with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome.
He was fully vaccinated.
Mohali recorded 974 new cases, pushing a count to 74,065, with 4,363 active cases.
The recovery count is 68,624.
The Death Toll is 1,078.
Panchkula recorded a record of 734 new cases, taking the calculation to 3.4185, with 2,343 active cases.
The recovery count was 31460.
The toll of death was 382.
In Chandigarh, a total of 357 patients were hospitalized, where 25 were in the ventilator.
“There were 7.4% of active cases received at the hospital.
This has increased since the end of last month,” said a public health expert.
He said, “Death will rise and as well as hospital admissions.
But those who are accepted only need oxygen support.” The level of peposititivity on Wednesday is 21.38%, while the weekly level of peposititivity is 17.65%.
The active case has soared to 4808.
“Active cases grew 34.42% while the national average growth was 24.39%.
The test per million per day in the city was 2,889, which placed it in the fifth slot nationally,” said Dr.
Rijo M John, a health economist based on Kerala and former consultants with WHO.
The confirmed case was 71,303, including 1,084 deaths.
229 patients were dismissed on Wednesday.
The highest case was reported from Manimajra, PGI Campus, Sector 15, 18, 23, 32, 37 and 38.
