Chandigarh: Chandigarh reported the first case of the new Covid-19 omicron variant on Sunday.
A 20 year old man, who recently returned from Italy, was tested positive for a new variant.
The patient arrived in India from Italy on November 22.
Even though he did not have symptoms, he was the target of the tester after the house quarantine period according to the protocol, which confirmed the existence of the Omicron variant in passengers.
