Bengaluru: A 28-year-old coffee trader from the Chikkamagaluru district was found hanging from the ceiling of his room in the cottage in Nelamangala, Bengaluru, Monday afternoon.
Shakir Ahmed, Mudigere resident in Chikkamagaluru, has checked into the lodge on 29 July afternoon, claiming he was visiting the city.
This cottage is located near Bypass Nelamangala-Kunigal.
On Monday, Ahmed breakfast was brought by the cottage staff, and asked them to have lunch in the afternoon.
To get money from Ahmed for lunch, a staff knocked on the door in the afternoon, but did not receive a response.
The manager then opened the door with a duplicate key and found Ahmed hanging from the fan.
There are no death records found.
A bachelor who runs a wholesale coffee business, Ahmed lost after leaving his house on July 13, his family told the police.
Said he would visit Bengaluru, Ahmed left in the morning and turned off his cellphone.
Complaints of missing people were submitted at the Mudigere police station the following day.
The family said Ahmed was in the financial crisis.
“He experienced a loss of more than Rs 1 Crore.
Many retail distributors who have bought coffee beans from him do not pay their contributions.
Locking and low turnover worsened his tribulation,” said the family’s source to the police.
