Bengaluru: Business on commercial roads will continue to be not affected because the work to improve the shortfall in the stretch of rebuilt will be taken in the phase, said Bengaluru Smart City Limited MD Rajendra Cholan.
Cholan said the whole drive would take 14 days and the sidewalk on the movement of the vehicle would be in place only in the area where the work would take place.
“All stretches will not be closed at any time.
This will be done gradually and commercial companies will function,” he added.
“Sunday night and so on, the work sidewalk will begin and continue for three days.
During this period, the vehicle movement will not be disturbed.
Only when the job starts at the carriageway, we will stop the vehicle movement in the particular area.
This will be done gradually,” Obviously Cholan.
He said the whole plan was discussed with traders and their agreement was taken before continuing.
While the sidewalk work will be wrapped in three days, the route will remain open for vehicles and pedestrian movements.
“Once the sidewalk work is over, BSCL will take a job at the first 240 meters of the CarrieGeway for six days.
Business can continue without interruption,” said Cholan.
After this stretch is ready, the remaining 300 meters from the CarrieGeway will be taken for repairs, he added.
Cholan said commercial road traders were involved in discussions and project meetings.
“All stretches (from CarrieGeway) will be developed in two phases and this plan is given by the merchant association,” he said.
The road was rebuilt under the City City project and was inaugurated in July 2021, but showed signs of damage.
Sanjay Motwani, Bengaluru’s commercial association president, said they had been told that work would be done mostly at night to avoid discomfort for traders and buyers.
“When Revenue Minister R Ashoka recently visited the road, he noticed that the work did not arrive at the mark and therefore repair work was taken …” he added.
Motwani said the vehicle would not be permitted only when the tiles were placed and the next curing period.
