Guwahati: Six districts in Arunachal Pradesh which are bordered by China have been under the radar ‘center for low vaccination, especially districts that have not registered the coverage of 50% of the first dose.
But state health officials have shown that difficult hilly fields from the country have not become deterrent as projected.
There is a large gap in understanding land reality and felt characters, they argue, because the migration of this border area to Itanagar has pushed drive vaccination in the capital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday held a meeting with the district with low vaccination coverage where other than Arunachal Pradesh, three other countries – Manipur, Nagalland and Meghalaya – were under supervision.
Arunachal Health Secretary P Parhiban told TII that most of the six districts from the border conditions where the first dose coverage had been less than 50% close to China, where the migration of people’s workers to Itanagar had been going on the first dose coverage of up to 130%.
The district with coverage of less than 50% is Kra Daadi (19%), Kumey brackets (28%), Kamle (36%), substitute (32%), substitute lower (41%) and east of Kameng (43%) where Nyishis is the main tribe.
“In the district bordering China, the coverage is very low in Arunachal Pradesh.
Most people who cannot be traced now settle in Itanagar and the nearest area.
The population projections in the district are based on the 2011 census,” he said.
Parthiban said the district government had told the center of the reality and groundmaking in the assessment of people who were not vaccinated.
“Actually Arunachal Pradesh was not far behind so far involving the scope of the first dose,” he added.
Urban migration patterns have confused health officials not only in Arunachal but in Assam too, where many migrant workers go to other countries after getting the first dose.
But in Arunachal, the health department is sure to cover the not vaccinated in the country.
While the first dose coverage in Arunachal is 77%, equal to only 19% in Kra Daadi, one of the lowest in this country.
As per the estimated census, the Arunachal population (above 18 plus) is around 10.09 lakh.
The second dose coverage is 54% in the state.
