Mangaluru: A team of doctors monitored the health condition of the former Oscar Union Minister Fernandes MP, Congress leader and former Minister M B Patil on Wednesday after visiting the hospital where the 80-year-old leader underwent a decline.
Patil said a expert doctor from Udupi and Manipal monitored his health.
He said the Congress of President Sonia Gandhi and party leader Rahul Gandhi was related to Fernandes family members to ask about his health.
Fernandes suffered fell when doing yoga in his apartment in Attavar in the city on Sunday.
The leader suffered a head injury and in a routine examination, he was found to suffer lumps in the brain.
He immediately shifted to the hospital intensive care unit, where he was undergoing treatment.
The leader of Veteran Congress B Janardhana Poojary also visited the hospital.
Apart from his health condition, Poojary went to the hospital in a wheelchair to ask about the health condition of the senior Congress leader.
Talking to reporters, Poojary changed emotionally and said God would help Oscar Fernandes recover from his illness.
“I will pray to God for his fast recovery,” he said.
