CHANDIGARH: Amid the ongoing internal tussle in Punjab Congress, a group of MPs met with chief minister Amarinder Singh to “underscore full faith in his leadership”.
The MPs said they supported Amarinder’s vision for the state and that Congress would win the 2022 assembly polls comfortably to carry forward its developmental agenda for the people of the state.
Patiala MP Preneet Kaur, Khadoor Sahib MP Jasbir Singh Gill, Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Choudhary, Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh and Faridkot MP Mohammad Sadiq called on the chief minister to discuss election strategy for forthcoming polls.
They stated that people of Punjab only wanted Amarinder as their chief minister for another term.
In a joint statement, they said there was no challenge to the Congress in Punjab in next polls and that every Punjabi will once again approve Amarinder Singh’s leadership and vision by voting for him overwhelmingly in 2022.
“There is no one who can even come closer to Captain Amarinder’s governance record, administrative experience and expertise, which Punjab needs at this crucial juncture in the fight against Covid-19 and to rebuild the impacted economy,” they said.
