Guwahati: Congress has reminded Chairman of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma to do ‘Rajdharma’ and impartial in dealing with opposition legislators.
The party took Umbrage in Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi met his rival, CM Sarma, at the state guest house in Koinadhora here on Sunday night and guaranteed construction in its election.
In a statement issued on Monday, Secretary General of PSAM PCC and Chair of the Media Department, Bobbeeta Sharma, said CM had to block ‘hiring division tactics’ among MLA opposition.
“We saw yesterday that Akhil Gogoi, Raijor Dal Opposition MLA from the Sivision constituency of Sivasagar, had a discussion for one hour with a development in its electoral district.
We appreciate that CM Assam has given time to Gogoi and guarantees that development projects will be carried out like Promised by Gogoi during the election, “he said and added that CM was entrusted with the responsibility of development in 126 state elections.
“Therefore it is expected that he must guarantee the same development in other MLA opposition constituencies,” Sharma said.
He added that CM had time and once again openly stated that the MLA Opposition could only give a speech in the Assembly, while for all practical purposes, the Guardian ministers would be responsible for work in constituencies.
Sharma said this has forced three MLA to switch sides for the reason for development and the Bypoll held in their election.
“It was seen from the election speech by CM and MLA candidates who joined the ruling party after defecting from the opposition camp, that the development of constituencies was only possible if the MLA belonged to the ruling party,” he added.
