Guwahati: In a solidarity show, Congress on Monday appealed to employees from the closed Hindustan Paper (HPC) Corporation, who was asked to empty their residence last week, don’t leave.
The party urges the state government to come up with aid packages for workers, especially because of the applicable pandemics.
Two paper mills have died for years and notice to empty the residence has triggered massive anxiety.
Two Paper Paper HPC, Nagaon Paper Mill in Jagiroad in the Morigaon District and Cachgram Paper Factory in Panchgram in Hailakandi District, was stopped in March 2017 and October 2015.
“The Assam Pradesh (APCC) Congress Committee will support and protect the interests of closed paper factory employees.

“Similarly, the Government Assam must be clear about his attitude regarding the lowest oil well in Panchgram.
