Bengaluru: After living a busy and ‘magnificent’ life in Urbanscape for more than a decade, the couple hugged a minimalist life and moved to a simple house near Mangaluru a year ago – minus refrigerator, washing machine and ordinary school.
The couple from Sirhady, a village in Moodbidri Taluk and 40km from Mangaluru, handed over their 17th floor apartment in Sarjapur, Bengaluru, and shifted into the home of a fairly solar power of 600 meters a year ago.
Blessed with twins – Ethan and Elena – eight years ago, Jeune Lobo was 35 years old, a content writer, decided to quit his job with children.
Immediately, her husband Avin Pais, 37, an IT consultant, also decided to say goodbye in 2018 after realizing that he lost his precious years of his children to grow after working with MNC for almost 13 years.
Jeune told Ti they decided to hit a road that was not loved five years ago.
“We have to decide between a magnificent lifestyle or leading life with our own pace.
We sell most of our belongings, hand over our apartment and at first moved to a small house to try minimalist, then to off-grid farms at Sakleshpur (Hassan District) to try to live agricultural life.
We live in shipping containers for a year, learn how to find food, cooking wood and try natural farming.
“At their Shatthady’s house, they don’t use a fridge or washing machine and follow the principles – the less you are Have, the more you have.
“For the past seven years, we haven’t seen doctors.
If it’s not healthy, we do fasting or take home medicine.
We started ‘The Lab Farm’ as an initiative to share traditional food styles and, sometimes, selling agricultural products,” Avin said , No ordinary school and Jeune have not recognized their children to regular schools.

They have learned to read and write themselves.

Earlier this year, they finished an 80-day trip from Moodbidri to Kutch.
Instead of staying at the hotel, they bought a tent and threw it near the beach and farm.

They were taken to social media to share and discuss their learning on minimalist, undust-broken, travel, homecare, personal care products, food processing recipes, city-to-agricultural stories and agricultural aspects, including how to brew Kombucha, fermentation and sweetenity of tea Black or green.
