The couple had gone to the police against alleged cruelty by their neighbors in Malleswaram to a wild dog in the area.
The couple claimed neighbors began throwing wild dogs that had recovered from a canine distemper (CD) with stones because they were afraid of dogs to attack them.

Srinivas, 60, a retired MNC employee, told Bangalore Mirror that his wife and he took care of wild dogs in their area and often gave them to eat.
“The problem began in August when one of the neighbors spread rumors among the occupants that the dog was dangerous and attacked people.

After people spread rumors about the dog, BBMP also came and examined the animal.

Harish KB, an animal welfare officer, said that he and other volunteers have also tried to talk to neighbors but they are hostile.
“We need more than a month to register FIR when the police also do not support,” he said.
Police Malleswaram has registered a case and is investigating.
