Chandigarh: The coverage of adult population vaccinations has reached 97.3%.
It is hoped that before the weekend, this city will complete the 100% immunization target.
Advisor for UT administrators has maintained January 14 as a time limit.
The recipient of the population of 18+ adults in the city is 8.43,000.
These include 26,237 health service workers, 22,428 frontline workers.
The weekly average vaccination increased from 3,400 weekly doses since November to above 10,000 weekly vaccinations from December and so on.
Vaccination is mainly carried out at government facilities.
“5,000 covishield vaccine doses are available with private centers, it will be replaced with new stock available with UT giving.
5,000 this dose will be utilized by priority by government facilities to avoid waste,” said Yashpal Garg, Secretary of Health, UT.
Until now, 124% HCW was vaccinated while 97.3% of Frontline workers were vaccinated.
The first vaccination began in the city on January 16, 2021, with health workers, the second priority was open to frontline workers on February 3, 2021 while on March 1, 2021, which was over 60 years and those aged between 45 years and 59.
Years with Komorbidit Selected is also permitted for vaccination.
Vaccination for 45 years and above without comorbidity starting from April 1 on June 1, 18+ was included as the last category for vaccination.
Chandigarh officially included the first dose coverage of 100% on September 15 last year.
