Guwahati: The Assam Cabinet on Wednesday decided to give a one-time grant RS 1 Lakh each to the relatives of the poor who had died because of Covid-19 and not a government employee or did not get the government’s pension.
The Minister of Cabinet Pijush Hazarika said, “Under the Prarthana scheme, so far there have been around 6,000 beneficiaries (then Kin).
Grants will be given in this scheme.
The number will be submitted to the beneficiaries in Gandhi Jayanti.” The state government has launched two other schemes For orphans because Covid and women who lost their husbands with a pandemic.
Every child, who has lost his parents, has been given a fixed deposit certificate from the principal number of Rs 7.81.200, check the RS 3,500 as the first monthly aid to continue until they reached the age of 24.
In the 24-year completion, the principal amount parked as a permanent deposit of each recipient will be credited to their bank account.
Under the scheme, for children under 10 years and teenage girl without guardians, the state government takes steps to accommodate such children in children’s parenting institutions and provide funds for their maintenance, including their educational expenditure.
Women who have lost their husbands have been given Rs 2.5 lakh as a one-time support of CM’s assistance funds and will also be entitled to the benefits of Arunodoi scheme along with the retirement of the monthly widow under the ongoing Widow Widow Widow Retirement Scheme.
