CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: The three neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh recorded 743 fresh cases and 45 deaths due to Covid-19 on Tuesday.
Haryana reported more cases of recovery than infections during the day — 263 recoveries, 146 cases and 20 deaths.
While 17 districts reported less than 10 cases each, seven reported none.
On the vaccination front, 71,707 beneficiaries got vaccinated during the day — 59,428 getting the first dose and12,779 their second dose.
Punjab recorded 409 fresh cases of Covid-19 while 20 patients lost their lives to the virus.
Besides,114,655 people were vaccinated during the day, of which 102,072 received the first dose and12,583 their second dose.
After reconciliation of data, 14 old deaths — five in Ferozepur, three in Mansa and two each in Ludhiana, Tarn Taran and Mohali — were added to the state’s tally.
About 200 old deaths which were not reported earlier have been added to the cumulative tally since May13.
Himachal reported five Covid-19 deaths and188 positive cases on Tuesday, while 314 patients were declared recovered.
