Guwahati: After more than four months on Friday, the total number of Covid cases fell below 500 in the state.
Apart from Sunday, when a little test shows a low amount of Covid, everyday case never drops below 500 since April 15.
With dipping counts, the government considers attracting many covid restrictions in September.
Health officials expect less than 500 cases per day before giving a nod to east the sidewalk covid and continue the movement between public transport districts.
The health department sources say 1.5 lakh tests per day can still hold the government’s plan to facilitate restrictions from next week.
The government’s source said aggressive testing had taken back seats for any reason.
There is no shortage of workforce and test kits but there is a reluctance of the public too, the source said.
Most test numbers declined in the district, although in Capital Guwahati’s efforts are active to filter the maximum positive case.
Kecatrupup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Bisajit Pegu told TOI that around 15,000 tests per day were still carried out in urban districts.
“We will not lower our guards.
The test number will not be allowed to drop drastically because the threat of Covid has not ended,” he said.
Puru added that more than 80% of people in Kamrup (Metro) were vaccinated, but Vigil was still at the train station and airport.
He acknowledged that even though 100 testing centers in the district remained intact, reducing the number of people who had advanced for testing had resulted in a decrease in test numbers to a certain extent to a certain extent.
While heading for July-end and even in early August, the daily test number even crossed 1.5 lakh on several occasions in the state and mostly outside the lakh, the appropriate numbers had shrunk in the past week.
The Director of Assam NHM Lakshmania told TI that many districts reported 0 to 10 cases per day.
“Contact search will be very little.
In such a situation, randomized testing is just a way out,” he added.
The last time the target of one Lakh test was done, it was August 20.
About 1,00,079 tests were carried out in that day.
Since then, the lowest 35,580 covid test was carried out on August 22, even though it was Sunday.
Although 499 cases were detected on Friday, it seems to be an encouraging sign for the Ministry of Health.
