Guwahati: Police Assam was collected around Rs 14 Crore as a fine because it was not wearing a helmet, rash, drinking & driving and parking in the zone without parking since August in the capital city.
From Rs 14 Crore, Rs 4 Crore has been collected until now.
Tell this, Harmet Singh, Police Commissioner, Guwahati, said, “On average, Rs 2.5 Crore is well collected every month from August to November.
But violations of traffic rules were shot in the city this month because the total RS 4 Crore has been collected until the month this.
“Citing the appeal of the chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, he appealed to the people of the town to follow the traffic rules to avoid fatal accidents.
“Don’t do a driving rash, driving under the influence of alcohol and please wear a helmet / seat belt,” he said.
He added that the police department and the transportation department had jointly arrested 22,000 people drive two-wheeled vehicles without helmets in the last 20 days.
“I don’t understand why people don’t want to wear a helmet when driving a two-wheeled vehicle.
Please use a helmet and reduce the chances of fatal accidents,” he said.
