Mangaluru: With a nipah virus reappeared in Kerala once again and a boy who gave up on infection on Sunday, a warning was stated in Kannada Dakshina too.
Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra appealed to people to be careful after infection reported in Kerala.
“A 12-year-old boy died of the Nipah virus infection at Kozhocode District of Kerala in 3.
Since Dakshina Kannada District shared its border with Kerala and a large number of people traveling for health and education purposes, Nipah warnings have been announced.
Officials concerned must take all Preventive measures needed, “DC said.
Nipah is a zoonotic virus that is transmitted from animals to humans and can also be transmitted directly among people.
This can cause various diseases from asymptomatic infections to acute respiratory diseases and fatal encephalitis other than fever, headaches, coughing and throat pain.
Wash hands using detergent and stay away from bats and pigs that cause the spread of the virus.
Don’t use fruits that are partly eaten by birds and animals.
Tell the health department immediately if someone found experiencing nipah symptoms, DC said.
