Dispurs: The Government Assam has ordered a judicial probe into the shooting incident that occurred in Dhalpur, killing two civilians and injuring nine police in Darrang District during the anti-encroachment drive.
In accordance with official notification, the investigation will be carried out under the leadership of retirees in the Gautati High Court.
“The government at home and the political department has decided to institutionalize the investigation of the circumstances that lead to the deaths of two civilians and injuries several other people including police personnel in the shooting incident that took place in the Dhalpur area in the Sipajhar revenue circle, under Darrang District on September 23, 2021 , “he said.
Violence broke out on Thursday at Sipajhar Darrang District in Assam during the anti-encroachment drive.
Police Supervisors (SP), Darrang Sushanta Buswa Sarma said that the people were spotted to throw stones and attack police personnel.
He further said that nine police were injured in the incident.
