Shimla: The first Delta plus state strain has been found in Kangra Regency in Himachal Pradesh after someone from the Palampur sub-division was tested positive for the variant.
According to Chief Kangra Medical Officer Dr.
Gurdarshan Gupta, the old sample of May 26 has been positively tested for Delta Plus variants and healthy people.
Kangra Deputy Commissioner Dr.
Nipun Jindal said the sample tested positive for the Delta Plus variant was May 26 and at that time Corona curlime was in the state.
He added that the positive person tested for Delta Plus variants did not have a travel history outside which meant he had acquired locally.
He said that the sequencing of the genome in the district would be brought according to the protocol.
Gupta said so far the only Delta Plus case has been tested positive in the district and the sample for the sequencing genomes was sent after 15 days and needed time for the report.
The state has sent 1,113 samples to the National Center for Delhi’s control to test the variants of concern among positive Covid cases in the state and according to reports received until June 28, from samples sent for testing, 76 was tested positive for Delta Strain, 109 The sample shows the existence of the English strain while eight has been positively tested for Kappa strains.
