Shimla: The first case of Delta Plus Strain has been found in Kangra District Himachal Pradesh.
Someone from the Palampur sub-division has a positive TST for the Delta Plus variant.
According to Chief Medical Officer, Kangra, Dr.
Gurdarshan Gupta, the old sample of May 26 has been tested positive for the Delta Plus variant and the person is in good health.
Deputy Commissioner, Kangra, DR Nipun Jindal said that the sample was positive for the very old Delta Plus variant on May 26 and at that time Corona curfew was in the state.
He said that people tested positively for Delta Plus variants did not have a travel history which meant he had acquired locally.
He said that the sequencing of the genome in the district would be brought according to the protocol.
Gurdarshan Gupta said so far only Delta Plus cases have been found in the district.
He said that samples for genome sequencing were sent after 15 days and needed time for the report to come.
The state has sent 1,113 samples to the National Disease Control Center to test the variant of concern among positive Covid cases in the state and according to reports received until June 28, from samples sent for testing 76 samples tested positive Delta strains, 109 samples showed existence England strains while 8 samples have been positively tested for Kappa strains.
