Bengaluru: Prof.
Sowmyanaranyanananananananananan Sadagopan on Sunday handed over allegations of the International Information Technology Institute, Bangalore (iiit-B), for his old colleague Prof.
Debabrata Das.
Sadagopan led the institution for 22 years.
He was the founder of the institution that began in June 1999 and was one of the infotechspesphics imagined by the government.
IIIT-B was funded by the Karnataka government, with the support of the IT industry, and has served as a university that is considered, giving a Master and Doctoral degree in Engineering.
Sadagopan also taught for more than 25 years, including IIT Kanpur, Iim Bangalore, IIT Madras and IIIT-Bangalore.
During his tenure in IIIT-B, the ministry of external affairs gave him the main role in helping to establish the Myanmar International Information Technology Institute at Mandalay.
Anand Parthasarathy, who has reported about the academic scene of technology for decades, said the ownership of Sadagopan could be said to be the longest duty from infotect academics in India as the head of professional higher education institutions.
The professor, he said, always spoke softly, and his sincerity and enthusiasm in helping to produce the next Indian Gen World Beater contagious.
“You can’t say not to him,” he said.
Debabrata watershed joined IIITI-B as assistant professor in 2002.
He is the Dean of academics and R & D from 2014 to 2017.
Before joining IIIT-B, he had served in IIT Kharagpur, and then in Kirana Networks in New Jersey, US.
