Bathinda: The selection of assembly of February 20 in Punjab will be the first time in a state that four people who have held the position of head of minister will fight for the election, including three former CMS and the presentation of cm.
Congress CM Face Charanjit Singh Channi will fight from Bhadaur and Chamkaur Sahib Chair, Sad Patriarch Parkash Singh Badal from Lambi, Punjab Lok Congress Captain Amarinder Singh from Patiala, and Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal from Lehra.
Rajinder Kaur Bhattalduring the last three elections, three people who have held the top position have been fighting with the same selection – Badal, Bhattal, and Amarinder.
With Channi took over the top post in September last year and three former main ministers, including Amarinder Badal and 74 years old were 94 years old, still active in politics, the upcoming polls would create history.
Only once that no one was sitting or former head of minister, when Shiromani Akali Dal boycott the election in 1992.
In three elections after emergency, in 1977, 1980 and 1985, only one cm was sitting or former Minister – Parkash Singh Badal – was on Medan.
He first held the position in 1970.
Although there was no cm in the election race in 1992 because he boycotted the selection process, three cms came out at the end of 1997 in Bealant Singh, Harcharan Singh Brar and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.
In 1997 and 2002 elections, two used cms or sat in a commotion at Parkash Singh Badal and Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.
In 2007, the count rose to three.
It continued in 2012 and 2017 too, when Badal, Bhattal and Amarinder jumped in a fight.
This is the third example when sitting the former main minister simultaneously fighting in two seats.
Started in 1997, when Badal was contested from Lambi and Qila Raipur.
He continued to win from both and retained the Qila Raipur seat in Shiromani Akali Dal Kitty when Jagdish Singh Garcha won the discretion after Qila Raipur after being emptied by Badal.
In 2017, Amarinder was contested from Patiala and Lambi.
Amarinder Singh won from Patiala, but was lost from Lambi, from where Badal was contested and won.
Now, Channi is fighting from Chamkaur Sahib and Bhadaur.
This is for the first time a Ministerial Minister fighting from two constituencies backed up.
