MySuru: Former Chairman of the Ministry and Opposition Leader Siddaramaiiah on Saturday criticized the state government over the opening of religious institutions in the land of government.
He said dismantling the temple conflicting with Hindu sentiments.
He also urged the government to begin actions against officials concerned because they did not act carefully.
In a series of tweets, he stated that it was a ‘dharma sukshma’ problem.
Officials and the government should make decisions in consultation with local residents or temple supervisors.
“Officials concerned have not participated in the process.
Alternative sites should be provided if demolition is deemed necessary.
The state government is responsible for this action that is contrary to Hindu sentiment.
Alternative places must be provided immediately to move the temple,” he said.
“Karnataka BJP speaks as if they have taken a contract to protect the hindutva, but they failed to protect the sentiments of the worshipers,” he added.
In the village of Uchchagani in Nanjanagud Taluk, the Regional Government destroyed Mahadevamma Temple after the Direction of the Supreme Court.
Villagers have now built emergency temple and have installed idols.

The official source claimed the temple was built on government land 15 years ago.
“The demolition drive was carried out after undergoing a lot of notification to Trustee and held a discussion with villagers, who were given time to move the structure,” said the source.
Meanwhile, State spokesman for BJP MG Mahesh and President Unit President of the Rural Mangala Somashekar opposed the district administrative decision to knock down the temples in the district.
“The temples are soft targets from the district administration and official officials releasing compound walls of mosques on the road Irwin and the opening structure of other religious institutions,” they said.
