Guwahati: A day before the Bypolls in Assam, the State Unit from Congress on Friday wrote to the head of the head election, demanding disqualification of BJP candidates for the Bhabanipur Constitution Phanidhar Talukdar because of distributed voters.
The party has accused the candidate, which came out of the United Indian Democratic Front (AIUDF) and joined the Safron Party last month, pampering the practice of bribery and corrupt by distributing money to voters outside his residence in Bhabanipur Assam which was lower the electoral district.
The letter signed by the Secretary General of the State of the Congress, Bobbeeta Sharma, said, “It has occurred at the Notice of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee through media reports and video clips that became viral on the social media platform that BJP candidates have distributed voters’ money.
Brazilian laws This by this candidate is a serious violation of the provisions of Section 123 (1) of the representation of the People’s Law, 1951 and the General Election Commission of the Indian Model Ethics Code.
“Therefore, the party has written to Chief Electoral Officer who demands fast and direct action against candidates.
“This is our request that according to the Election Commission does not need a mild problem and takes a strong punishment so that in the future there are no candidates who dare to ignore the commission model behavior and enjoy corrupt practices,” the letter said.
It can be mentioned that the powerful BJP gave Bhabanipur’s seat to the ally of the Key of the Atom Gana Parishad (AGP) to oppose the election of assembly for members of members 126 held in April.
However, AGP can’t work.
Talukdar, which then AIUD candidate, defeated agp candidate Rajit Deka with margins more than 3,000 votes.
On September 1, Talukdar came out of AIUDF and joined BJP.
He is the first toggle from AIDF to BJP.
Four other legislative constituencies will also conduct polls on October 30 along with Bhabanipur.
