Bengaluru: An ophthalmologist, who tried to get an internet connection, was tricked by Rs 74,420 by someone who claimed to be an employee of a service that provided the company.
Dr.
Nagarathna Bailey from Hanumantanagar stated in his complaint that he tried to get a connection for his son who pursued technical courses.
He has sent an online request to a service provider on April 29 this year and received calls from company customer service services on the same day.
The doctor was told that an executive would be sent to explain the rates and details of other plans.
The next day, someone identified as Bhanuchandra M met him at work.
While he asked him about plans six months, he suggested he chose another plan where the router would be offered free.
He agreed and paid him Rs 74,420, including Rs 33,560 in cash.
But the man does not provide an internet connection or return the money.
He found his cellphone turned off and the service provider did not respond to his complaint.
