With cases of viral infection soaring in Bengaluru, government school teachers within the limit of BBMP have been transferred to the Covid Management Task.
The association said the school was closed only if seven or more students tested positive.
If not, initiative like ‘Odu Karnataka’ continues and this requires the existence of a teacher on campus.
The department must also convey these instructions to all district commissioners too, said Memorandum from the Association.
In response, the department said that the teacher had been assigned to the Covid task within the boundary of the BBMP, it also asked the government to relieve teachers from these tasks in the schools where open schools were open.
Open the B’luru School as well, the association demanded that the schools in Bengaluru be reopened as early as possible.
D Shashi Kumar, Secretary, Primary and Secondary School Management Association Karnataka said: “The government has confirmed the suspension of classes on campus in Bengaluru which connects it with a high number of cases.
The government has said another week will be given before considering the reopening of the school in Bengaluru .
We asked them not to delay beyond that.
Going forward, we are looking for that no educational institution to be closed after a pandemic and it must be ensured that children have access to continuing education.
“Lokesh T, the president, recognizes the Association of Private Schools Unaided , said: “We welcome the government’s decision to reopen schools in other areas.
But we are not happy with the decision about Bengaluru.
The government must at least take some initiatives such as Vidyagama for children here.
