Patna: The State Health Department has made all the settings needed to drive mega covid vaccination on Friday to mark the anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The state has a stock of around 40 lakh doses of covaxin and covishield vaccine and wants to break all previous records as far as the amount of vaccination in a day.
The number of session sites has been upgraded to 14,157 for mega vaccination drives.
In almost 1,000, the maximum number of vaccination centers has been established in the East Champaran, followed by Vaishali (900), Patna (840), Samastipur (603) and Muzaffarpur (600).
About 50,000 health workers, including AMM, paramedics, and data entry operators have been deployed in vaccination centers throughout the state.
Health Minister Mangal Pandey said preparations for mega vaccination drives were completed in all districts.
“There will be a one-day vaccination of the highest in the state on Friday.
All previous records will be damaged.
More than 14,000 vaccine centers have been set for purpose.
More than 4.63 crores, people have received at least one dose of covid vaccine available in the state .
We have set a target to take numbers to 5.5 crores at the end of this month, “said Minister.
“The target of giving a six-month-dose of six-month vaccine will be completed before and it will be a big achievement for Bihar in the war against Coronavirus,” Pandey said, adding efforts made by the Ministry of Health, the number of Daily Covid-19 cases had dropped at States.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director of Special Secretary-Cum-Executives, the State Health and Bihar Aids Control Society, said there was no specific target set for a special vaccine drive, but the idea was to vaccinate the maximum number of people in one day.
“We received 14 Doses of Lakh Vaccine Covishield on Thursday.
With this, our vaccine stock increased to 40 lakh.
We have sent a vaccine dose to all districts,” he said.
Singh added he held a meeting with district judges and civil surgeons regarding special drives and asked them to ensure maximum inoculation.
“About 2.2 crore people have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the past two months and we have set a target to vaccinate more crore more people at the end of September.
We are far ahead of our target to vaccinate 6 crore populations that meet the requirements in six months .
“A total of 4,63,58,645 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been given in a state so far.
At least 3.8 crore people have received the first second shot and 82.85 lakh in the state.
According to government data, at least 50% of the eligible population has received at least the first dose of vaccines in the 10.6% country of both doses.
